The 103rd annual meeting

Here are the highlights:

  • Vice President Margaret Hoag ‘86 reported on major club activities.
  • Young Alum Representative Bejay Ugale ‘00 reported on the December Holiday Party and planning the upcoming multi-college Harbor Cruise in September.
  • Barbara Powell reported on behalf of Admissions Rep. Kyoko Yamamoto ‘01 that the Q & A sessions held by the Club help increase the number of applicants as a result of attending these sessions. 34 women from Massachusetts are enrolled to enter BMC this fall.
  • Career Development Liaison Alice Diamond MA ‘77 reported on the Career Networking event held at Ligne Rosee-Adesso in January.
  • Bookstore report by Claire Nunes ‘56 recognized Manager Larry McCargar’s community-building talents, the catalogue update in the computer by Roo Dane ‘61, and a training program for younger volunteers started by the Gray Panther volunteers.
  • Cornelia Robart ‘61 reported on this year’s Book Group meetings.
  • Barbara, reporting on behalf of Traditions Mistress Luann Abrahams ‘87, described the 2 events for the year: making Lizards for the youngest Massachusetts Mawrtyrs and May Day baskets for the oldest.
  • Treasurer Jane Lifton ‘76 reported on the Club’s $1000 donation to the Challenging Women Campaign, an increase from last year’s gift but the same as previous years’.
  • Julia Aliker ‘83 reported that this year’s Alumnae Regional Scholarship Award is going to a Boston sophomore who will work in Jamaica helping underprivileged children.
  • Win Wilbur ‘55 was presented with this year’s Volunteer Service Award.
